GROWING OREGON GARDENERS

LEVEL-UP SERIES FOR 2023

The wildly popular webinar series produced by faculty and staff of the OSU Extension Master Gardener program, “Growing Oregon Gardeners, Level Up Series” returns in 2023. Scheduled the second Tuesday of every month, Noon-1pm, February through November, and is free and open to the public. This year gardeners can learn directly from experts more about native plants, dig deep into soil testing, growing Asian vegetables and even how to use oils for pest control. In May, attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from OSU faculty responding to the invasive new pest in Oregon, the Emerald Ash Borer. The first webinar kicks off Tuesday February 14thRooting for Runoff: Storing and Treating Home Stormwater Using Rain Gardens.

In 2022, 12,649 gardeners watched the Growing Oregon Gardeners webinars live or from recordings (all webinars are recorded and available on our website). OSU horticulture faculty answered 689 questions during the 10 webinars. Attendees came from 47 states, Puerto Rico, and 18 international countries. Surveys of attendees helped determine the offerings in 2023, and we know the webinars are helping gardeners be more successful and climate-aware: 80% of 2022 attendees planned to make changes to their gardening practices.

Webinars are available on Zoom and broadcast live on the OSU Extension Master Gardener Facebook page. The full schedule and how to register is available at https://extension.oregonstate.edu/mg/growing-oregon-gardeners-level-series-2023.
